That is the community that covers our team and volunteers but also where we are based, right here in Pontypool, New Inn, Cwmbran and Torfaen.

We want to launch a new, exciting media and radio station for all local people in our community. We currently have a group of 43 volunteers for presenting, behind the scenes support, business administration, music production, station support and DJ-ing. From these, we have:

​

• A volunteer for Women's Aid and awareness for domestic abuse.

• A Retired police officer to encourage further involvement from the elder community and develop friendships and social interaction.

• Childminders and Social care

• A Co-Founder based in construction to encourage the local community to break the stigma of a male dominated industry and encourage diversity.

• Promotion and support for Mental Health awareness

Our aim is to take individuals off the streets and provide opportunities for them to better themselves. We want to allow them to learn new skills.

​

SW20 Radio will also be a platform for local musicians and bands and performers to showcase their talent to the wider community and beyond.

 

We want to give local people an opportunity to develop key life skills to help them take these forward in their future careers.
